Mitie made decarbonisation of their built environment and fleet simple. Breaking down barriers so they can save money, reduce carbon, and ensure the energy security. Climate change is one of the most pressing and urgent issues facing our planet. Mitie understood this and decided to go further and faster with Plan Zero, but if other companies don’t follow, then we will be facing severe consequences from lack of action. After all, climate risks have the power to affect future operations.
Overview
Our strategy was to utilise customer insight to develop a simplified easy to buy decarbonisation offering that would help our customers and the wider industry in committing to, and achieving, ambitious net zero targets.
The biggest challenge we need to help customers overcome is the gap between ambition and execution:
They’re struggling to make the business case for decarbonisation without dedicated time, decision-making power or technical knowledge. The multitude of decarbonisation options and pressure to choose the right one results in inaction or piecemeal, short-term change
